Olney Days Kick-Off
Olney Days kicks off with a triple whammy!
Mr. & Mrs. Olney
Come
watch 18 of Olney’s energetic Moms and Dads as they participate in a
tongue-in-cheek competition, the Mr. & Ms Olney Contest, to
see which man and which woman can accomplish a few of the many tasks
today’s parents must perform the fastest and with the fewest
mistakes. This year the tasks include:
- dressing kids in winter clothes
- giant word search
- potting plants
- opening a box with a ring of keys
- watermelon seed spitting.
Come join us in the Upper Gymnasium of Farquhar Middle School at 7:00 pm to see what feats this year’s contestants must perform and who will be crowned the 2006 Mr. and Ms. Olney. Our winners receive a nice collection of prizes donated by local merchants and are invited to ride in the Olney Days Parade on Sunday, May 21st.
Prizes!
Grand Prize: $100 gift certificate to Sakura and two theater tickets from the Olney Theater.
Runner-Up Prize: $40 gift certificate at Cheeburger Cheeburger and two tickets to Olney 9 Theater.

Olney Community Band & Olney Jazz Troupe
Then stick around to hear not one, but two concerts. The
Olney Community Band
will begin performing around 8:30 pm and will play a
variety
of music that will appeal to young and old, and everything in
between. Then at 9:30 pm, everyone is invited to join us for
an hour of Swing Dancing to the sounds of the
Olney Jazz Troupe.
Admission, More Information
There is no admission charge for this fun-packed evening, but we ask that you bring non-perishable food that will be donated to Olney Help for distribution to families in need in the greater Olney area.
